Dr. Bradley Harrison is a certified aviation medical examiner dedicated to providing comprehensive medical evaluations for pilots. With his expertise in aviation medicine, he ensures pilots meet FAA medical requirements while prioritizing their health and safety for optimal flight performance.

Bradley K. Harrison, MD, FAAFP

Education

He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, then completed his Family Medicine internship, residency, and co-chief residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Affiliations

He is a proud member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and a Life Member of the Civil Aviation Medical Association. He has been appointed to the MHK Airport Advisory Board, serving as an at-large pilot and the current Vice Chair.

Academic Distinction

Dr. Harrison is a Reviewer for the Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education & Research (JAAER), a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing aviation safety, education, and workforce development. His selection reflects national recognition of his expertise at the intersection of clinical medicine and flight operations.

Qualifications

Dr. Harrison is currently board-certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (DABFM). He is also recognized as a Fellow by the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).

Private Pilot

Dr. Harrison grew up with a lifelong dream of flying. An education in medicine and time serving in the US Army propelled him to finally pursue his passion. In 2021, he obtained his private pilot license and, for a time, owned his own aircraft. He enjoys taking to the skies and looks forward to flying more often.

Combat Veteran

While on active duty in the United States Army, he was a Family Medicine Staff Physician at Irwin Army Community Hospital at Fort Riley, Kansas. He deployed initially to Operation Friendship 1 as a Battalion Surgeon with 2nd Battalion, 137th Infantry Division, Kansas National Guard, to King Khalid Military City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and later to Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Squadron Surgeon with the 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, earning a Bronze Star Medal.

Kansas Aviation Medicine proudly serves the Manhattan area with two convenient locations. Visit Dr. Harrison at Grand Mere inside the Concierge Med Lounge or at the Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK). At MHK, pilots can take advantage of the exclusive “Fly-In” clinic, allowing them to fly in for their appointment and fly out afterward.

Driving Directions

From Manhattan
  1. Take K-18 West (Ft. Riley Boulevard) to the Scenic Drive Exit.
  2. At the roundabout, take Skyway Drive toward Manhattan Regional Airport.
  3. Note: Skyway Drive runs parallel to K-18.
  4. Turn right on South Airport Road.
  5. Proceed to the end of the road.
  6. Kansas Aviation Medicine is on the left.
From Ft. Riley / Junction City
  1. Take K-18 East toward Manhattan (I-70 Exit 303).
  2. Exit at W. 56th Avenue.
  3. Turn toward the Manhattan Regional Airport terminal on Skyway Drive.
  4. Drive past the airport entrance (~½ mile), then turn left on South Airport Road.
  5. Proceed to the end of the road.
  6. Kansas Aviation Medicine is on the left.
