Trusted Physician
Bradley K. Harrison, MD, an approved Senior/HIMS Aviation Medical Examiner listed on the FAA website, performs Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and BasicMed Aviation Medical Exams. As a private pilot himself, Dr. Harrison understands the needs of airmen. Before scheduling an appointment, airmen must visit the FAA MedXPress website to obtain their confirmation number. Flight physicals are available at Grand Mere (inside Concierge Med Lounge) and Manhattan Regional Airport.

What to Expect
During an FAA flight physical, you can expect a thorough, structured exam to determine if you meet the medical standards for your certificate class. First, you’ll complete your application through the FAA MedXPress system and bring your confirmation number to the appointment.
Dr. Harrison will review your medical history and discuss any past or current conditions. Then, he’ll check your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.), vision (distance and color), hearing, and general physical health. Additional tests, such as EKGs for Class 1 patients over age 40, may be required depending on the certificate class. If all looks good, you’ll walk out with your certificate in hand.
After a successful physical, you can receive the following certificates:
-
First Class (Air Transport Pilots-ATP): Every 12 months if younger than age 40, every 6 months if over age 40
-
Second Class (Commercial Pilots): Every 12 months
-
Third Class (Private/Student Pilots): Every 5 years if younger than age 40, every 2 years if over age 40
